Women of All Saints Episcopal Church have been meeting monthly on Saturday mornings for several years, to explore together the possibilities of prayer. We do not follow a formal curriculum. We are learning from each other how we pray and what prayer has meant in our lives . All women are welcome to attend, each time we meet the group is different.
We begin our meetings with a brief service of morning prayer. We follow with an hour of discussion, often led by a member of our group who has volunteered to explore and report back on a topic. The list at right is a sample of the topics we have explored over the years.
The Possibilities of Prayer meetings began as a Lenten observance. Under the leadership of June Miller we met for 90 minutes on each Saturday during Lent of 2005. The meetings meant so much to us that we agreed to continue meeting on a monthly basis throughout the year, with summers off. Our meetings have focused on topics great and small, and each has been a blessing. To come once does not commit you to regular attendance, but once you have experienced this meeting you will want to return.
